Privacy Policy

Kova Technologies Ltd (“Kova”, “we”) makes Kestrel Journal. This policy explains what personal information is involved, in plain terms. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. What stays on your device

Trades, notes, screenshots, settings and your licence key are stored in your browser’s own storage on your device. We do not receive them and cannot see them. If you turn on sync, your journal is written to a folder you choose, such as one in Dropbox or iCloud Drive. That provider’s terms apply to that folder, and our servers are not involved.

2. Buying a licence

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They collect your name, email address, billing country and payment details, and they keep the payment data. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can issue your licence key, send your receipt, give support and keep records.

3. The Coach

When you ask for a review, your device sends a summary of your recent closed trades, together with your licence key, to our server on Vercel. The server checks the licence, forwards the summary to Anthropic to write the review, and returns the result. We do not store your trades or the review. Anthropic processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy. Our host keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and response status) for security and reliability. Where credits apply, we record how many you have, not what you sent.

4. Prices and exchange rates

If you use the Investments page or currency conversion, your browser contacts price providers directly (CoinGecko, Frankfurter and, if you add your own key, Finnhub). They see your IP address and the symbols you ask about. Your Finnhub key stays on your device and is never included in a sync file.

5. Our website

This website sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Our host, Vercel, may log requests, including IP addresses, for security and operation.

6. Support email

If you write to us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and keep a record of it.

7. Who else sees information

Lemon Squeezy, Anthropic and Vercel process information on our behalf or as described above. They may be located outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We do not sell personal information.

8. How long we keep it

We keep order and support records for as long as we need them to run the licence, answer questions and meet legal and tax obligations.

9. Your rights

You can ask us for the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email support@kestreljournal.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page.
